My dog Dale was taken by an aide sent by a local agency to take care of my husband after a total ankle replacement, in March 2023. I made flyers and sent them to every vet and dog groomer in the county, reported his microchip stolen immediately, contacted animal services and had his license flagged as missing/stolen. I even contacted the police. The dog thief refused to say where my dog was, and I was told to take her to small claims court. She quit her job and even though I had everyone looking for Dale there was no known sightings.
For a year and a half, we have never stopped looking and even when we changed phone numbers, I made sure to keep the county licensing division and his microchip company up to date with our phone numbers. The one year mark was really hard but I couldn’t bring myself to stop believing. Imagine my surprise when I received a phone call on 9/01/24 from a shelter in North Georgia, 9 hours from our home that Dale had been found. He was kept out doors and a matted flea ridden mess. Our groomer spent hours to remove it all. He is as happy to be home as we are to have him home. He can’t stop smiling and neither can we!
