Eddie began life with me when I found him on a lonely 2 lane blacktop in West Texas. He grew into handsome boy that likes to wear a tuxedo and 4 white socks. He is sleek and lean and like to catch squirrels. Eddie was out squirrel hunting one day and a nice lady came along and he thought she looked sad so he head bumped and rubbed her legs. He made her so happy she decided to take him home. He thought it would be okay to visit her for a bit. After a few weeks he got tired of the apartment she lived in and tore up the blinds trying to get out. He didn’t like her other cat and was mean to her. He didn’t like the cat food and would jump on the table and eat the ladies meatloaf. She was so frustrated she took him to the vet and ask to have him scanned for a microchip. When they told her he did indeed have a chip she started crying because she loved him so much. She decided she was going to take him home and try to make things work. Eddie was very sad because though he liked the lady he really wanted to go home and chase squirrels again.
The vet notified PetLink and they called me and said Eddie had been found! They provided me with the contact information for the vet. The vet gave me the lady’s phone number and I called and called and she would not answer or return my calls. Animal control got involved and negotiated for Eddie’s release. About a week later the lady finally agreed to give Eddie up. They picked him up, took him to animal control and called me to come get him. Eddie was happy to be home again! He got to eat ham treats and chase squirrels again! The lady finally called and she was glad Eddie was home and not being mean to her little girl cat anymore. Eddie stays close to home now and has been schooled on stranger danger. He never wants to ride in the back of a truck again either!
