Our Yorkshire Terrier, Peanut, went missing in late March 2014 when she got out of our apartment late at night. We looked everywhere for her for as long as we could, but there was never any sign of her. We received lots of phone calls with leads, and we drove all over the state. However, none of them took us to our baby Peanut. As time went by, we never lost hope that Peanut would return to us. We maintained her pet listing on all of the websites and Facebook. In June 2015, over 14 months after she went missing, my wife and I received a call from PetLink informing us that Peanut had been found. We were both without words and could not believe our ears. A family about 30 minutes north of where we lived had found Peanut on the streets, taken her in, fed her and after about a week, realized that she was too well cared for to not have a home of her own. They took her in to be scanned and she was returned to us. Peanut was perfectly healthy, and it was as if she had never been gone. While we will never know what Peanut went through or where she was all of that time, we are thankful every day that she is back in our lives and we are thankful that the microchip is the reason she is here. PetLink called us immediately after her chip was scanned, and they were so helpful in organizing the meeting between us and the person that found her. We cannot thank them enough! Without the microchip, Peanut never would have come back to us, quite literally. We are thankful every day that we decided to get the microchip to bring Peanut back into our lives after so long.
