Our Siberian Husky, Ariel, was being bathed at the groomer’s when she saw a way to escape. She jumped over the back gate, a mere four-foot challenge and pushed against the rear door. The door opened and through it went Ariel and some of her canine friends. After a brief exploration of the back parking lot, Ariel’s well behaved friends returned when they were called. Not our escape artist, Ariel, who was naked and free, having left her collar and ID by the bathtub! The groomer’s shop closed and the employees went looking for Ariel.
My dog, like all huskies, loves to run and run and, even though the shopping center where the groomer is located is well fenced in, Ariel was off so fast that no one saw where she went. Initially we thought that someone must have taken her! That’s before I was told that, apparently, Ariel had crossed a four-lane road and was walking along another road, this time one with six lanes, when a woman stopped to check on her. Realizing that Ariel was a well cared for dog, the kind woman took her to a nearby vet’s office. YEP! – Ariel had a chip and the rest is history! PetLink sent us an email notice saying that Ariel had been found and provided my contact information to the vet. The best thing about the microchip? My dog never leaves anywhere without it! Not even the bathtub.
