Our Mastiff, Raider, is a big baby and loves being home. However, he is also curious… We have a 4 ft fence enclosing our yard and will soon be upgrading to a 6 ft fence as Raider can easily step over the current one! One day our big baby decided he wanted to venture out to see the neighbors’ dogs when I let him out to potty. When I opened our door and called for my dogs only one, my Pit Bull, Izzy, came inside. It was about 8:00 p.m. at night and I immediately posted on Facebook. Then I packed up my kids in the car and proceeded to drive around the neighborhood, each time circling further and further out, yelling and searching. This went on for a period of an hour. I was so worried, because this behavior wasn’t like my boy.
After this period my phone rang and I got so excited to see an out of state number as we live by a military base. I was hoping my post on Facebook had brought me luck. Instead it was PetLink! Raider’s bright red PetLink tag had been spotted by a wonderful family who got him out of the road where he was running. They took him to the emergency vet to be scanned and PetLink contacted me to let me know Raider had been found safe. What a relief!
