Safely Home: 8 Years Later

So just wanted to share a story that PetLink microchips made possible:

8 years ago, my mom died and the step family took her 3 dogs in middle of the night and went from Utah to Washington DC. They took my mom’s 2 Shih Tzus, Scooter and Shawnee, and a Poodle named Chloe.  Fast-forward 8 years later, my sister got a call that her dog has been found in Huntington Beach California. The dog was found in a pretty bad way, and we were confused. The finders sent a picture and we realized it was Scooter! We flew out the next morning and picked him up from the shelter. Scooter had been thrown in a field, drugged, and was covered in fleas. We rented a car and drove through the night to get him home. We stopped and bathed him, then went to  PetSmart where they trimmed him and gave him a flea treatment.  Scooter is 13 years old and living the rest of his life with my aunt and her Shih Tzus (who happen to be Scooter’s siblings!). He’s now happy and loved. We are unfortunately not sure what happened to the other 2 dogs.

Thank you PetLink for your microchips. It saved Scooter, and though it saddens us to think what the dogs may have went through, we are so glad we got him back and he is safe.
