A little female Tuxedo cat scratched at our neighbor’s door during the first snowstorm in November 2014. Even though the neighbor is highly allergic to cats, she let her in, took a picture of her, and emailed it to our whole neighborhood via an emergency newsletter, trying to find the poor kitty’s family. The next day they even took her to a local vet to find her chip. No chip! I thought the vet might not have the right reader, so I picked up the cat, and took her to my vet, which is a specialized cat-only clinic. Nope, no chip! Sad for her previous family, but great for us and our new little girl, Lady. Of course, I had Lady chipped at once, so that she will never be lost and not found again. My husband and I love her, our other “fur child”, and our other Tuxedo named Hunter has adopted his new little sister. Whoever Lady’s first family was is just out of luck. We feel a little sorry for them, but not enough to ever give her back. If they loved her, they would have chipped her! Now we can be sure that if Lady or Hunter, who is also chipped, ever get lost, PetLink will be able to help us get our “children” back.
