Diva came to us as a foster kitten after having been rescued by the group we volunteer for. She was a tiny abandoned kitten. We adored her so much that we eventually adopted her as our own. The first thing we did was microchip her. On July 16th 2012, Diva failed to return home from her daily outing. Devastated and distraught, we checked all the shelters, posted signs, spoke to neighbors and scoured the neighborhoods to no avail. We ultimately resigned ourselves to the fact that she was gone. Some five months later, on December 7th 2012, we received word from PetLink that Diva had been found after her chip had been scanned.
We were put in touch with a local cat rescue group who had rescued her for the second time! They had been trapping kittens one rainy night in October, to get them off the streets and into forever homes. Diva, soaking wet and extremely thin, walked right up to their volunteer. They had put her into a foster home who nursed her back to health. On December 6th 2012, they took her to the vet to prepare her for adoption. It was there Diva’s “homing device” was activated! The chip brought up our details and we were reunited with Diva on December 8th. What a Christmas miracle! I can’t express enough gratitude to PetLink and Premier Cats and Kittens as it was through them that this miracle occurred. Had Diva not been microchipped she would have never found her way home and would have been adopted by another family. Diva is adjusting well and she has resumed her life as our Queen Diva.
