Smokey is a dog that belonged to my father. When my father passed away three years ago, aged 94, he asked me to take care of Smokey. I’ve known him all his life. Spirited and sweet, Smokey’s an old dog himself now. He has trouble walking but he has no trouble running! He has always been a runner. If he can get out he’ll go – when he’s free, you’d never know he was old and slow. Smokey goes to the park and runs all around it smelling the flowers and picking up scents. Usually my son gets on his bicycle and chases after him but this time a passing stranger saw him and took him to a vet’s office on Santa Rosa Avenue. The vet scanned him and found my contact information. It’s the reason we have chips in both our dogs because there is a good possibility of being reunited.
