Our nine-month-old German Shepherd puppy squeezed through a hole in the fence, got caught up and left his collar behind. Having lost his collar on his escape, Bear was otherwise untraceable, except for his microchip!
So, now there was no way for us to get him except looking and asking. We put up signs in the neighborhood but Bear was only lost for three or four hours before we had a call from someone who had found him right down the street. The finder took Bear to a veterinary emergency room where they scanned him for free and found his PetLink ID number.
I thought, ‘Oh, boy! That’s fantastic!’ Thanks to PetLink, we found our puppy really fast and he’s fine although, I guess at 80 lbs he’s not really a puppy now, more of an adolescent.
